One of the questions I’m asked most often is: How long does it take to build my new home?
The typical answer to this question is 4 to 6 months from footer date to completion. Keeping in mind that this can vary depending on many different factors such as weather, customer change orders, mixture of size and types of homes under construction.
Fine Line does everything in our power to complete your new home within 6 months.
Also, to expand on the time line, it may take 4 to 6 weeks from the time a Contract is signed to be ready for the excavation of the ground. During this time frame there are number of items to be completed. To aid in this process we provide you with a check list and we will help walk you through each item. These items include such things as Mortgage Application, Application for Water/Sewer/Septic/Driveway/Building Permits.
We send the home plans to drafting to be updated, it can take a couple of weeks to receive preliminary plans back from drafting. Once received, we review them with you and make any changes necessary before requesting final prints from drafting. Then the fun part of making your color selections for the materials used to build the home begins.
When the final plans return from drafting, we then complete the package for the Building Permit application. Upon completion and receipt of all the applicable items on the check list we schedule the Pre-Building Conference, which is a final review of your contract, addendums, color selections and plans. Once this meetings is done and you close on your construction loan we can start construction of your new home.
